Greetings MCU Stakeholder,
The landscape of higher education, particularly midwifery education, is constantly evolving. Transformative ideas and state-of-the-art instruction are a necessity for developing midwives of excellence. For any higher education institution, the strategic plan serves as a blueprint for success despite external threats and adversity, while providing the framework for fortifying processes and practices that help the institution achieve its goals. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I share with you Midwives College of Utah’s Strategic Plan for 2024 – 2029.
This plan represents nearly a year of dedicated investment by the Steering Committee in collaboration with stakeholders, who invested countless work sessions involving thorough research and assessment to craft a guide that helps define our vision through a series of intentional goals and objectives. Our strategic plan capitalizes on our past success while firmly focusing on a new horizon that will continue to solidify our status as a progressive hub of midwifery academic excellence.
As the heartbeat of MCU, our students’ well-being is always placed first and foremost, especially as we prepare them to be the leaders, midwifery practitioners, and educators of future midwives. I am certainly proud of all that has been accomplished since the founding of MCU some 43 years ago and I’m looking forward to creating the foundation of sustainability for MCU to thrive over the next 100 years.
I applaud all the stakeholders who truly embody the Swahili verb “harambee” while finalizing our strategic plan, which will move MCU forward as we grow in capacity and innovation that will lead to us being a stronger, healthier, and significantly progressed institution of higher learning.
